Oddly, after falling in love with the "all-colour" Siamese, now I have only one girl of this type. This is not by deliberate choice it's just turned out that way.
However, this young representative is the cat of my dreams. When first I saw this particular colour - an Oriental Cinnamon - I fell in love with its plush coat and vivid green eyes. Even my disinterested son, when he first saw my latest acquisition, exclaimed, "wow, look at that colour; those eyes. She looks unreal," while the "wow" cat greeted him like a long lost friend though this was the first time she had ever seen him.
So, may I introduce her to you? Please meet Barbecco Organa aka Maggie-Mae. The first time I met her father, Marian Dawe's Westgarth Foolsgold, it was love at first sight. When Marian offered me one of his offspring, how could I turn her offer down? Even my husband was smitten on seeing Maggie-Mae for the first time. Mags arrived and ignored the other cats and the two dogs. She knew she had a special place in her humans' hearts. Within a few days she was behaving as if she had always lived with us.
She is unfazed and is very quizzie about anything that happens in her domain and has to get into the thick of the action, commenting vociferously. Unusually for a cat, she looks you in the eye and holds your gaze as you talk to her, her pupils dilating and growing smaller as she seems to take in everything you say to her. Her purr is so stentorious that it often makes her cough and she likes nothing better than, at night, snuggling into the crook of my arm, staying put until the alarm clock goes off. She is then immediately wide awake and ready and willing to take on whatever the new day has to offer.
