My beautiful Neutered Red Oriental, CWMKATZ Marmalade Ted (aka Teddy; Ted; Teddy Bear; The Bear) is out of Metexa Fleurdelune. He and his Cream Sister, Pasha, were my first Oriental babies under the Cwmkatz prefix.

Teddy had a very dicey start in life, being very large, and born "dead" but with much towel rubbing, heart massage, shaking fluid out of his lungs and even mouth-to-mouth resuscitation he survived and has never looked back. The day after his birth I noticed that his little tail was a bit scaly and the following day I found half of it had dropped off like a lizard's. But its loss has never bothered him. He is a big cat, long-legged and rangy and of beautiful type. He has the most gorgeous leonine head and I can just imagine him in the African Savannah. Therefore it is so sad that he lost his tail as he would have done well on the show bench.

He is the dearest, most gentle cat imaginable and another one who looks you directly in the eye. He is very doglike and when I go out in the car, I have to turf him out of it first. He then sits on the front doorstep and awaits my return, and as I arrive, comes running up to me yelling loudly in protest that I have dared go out without him. He adores the rain and comes inside sopping wet, telling me the tale as he insists on climbing onto my (or my husband's) lap and throwing himself down, he displays his furry tummy to be tickled, purring with pleasure, and arms and legs held out at all angles and his big paws, fingers wide open, kneading the air in pleasure. He's completely un-aggressive and is happy to share my lap with anyone who wants to, as long as he is top of the pile and occupies the most space.
